מַרְדַּעַת
מַרְדַּעַתf. (preced.) pack-saddle or cushion, consisting of patches. Sabb.V, 2 (52b) חמור יוצא במ׳וכ׳ an ass may be driven out (on the Sabbath) with the cushion tied on his back (as a protection from cold); ib. 53a. Tosef.Kil.V, 18 לא יתן את המ׳וכ׳ one must not put a cushion of patches on his shoulder (on account of the mixture of stuffs, כִּלְאַיִם). Y.Bicc.III, 65d top הטלית שעליו כמ׳וכ׳ his official cloak is as befitting to him as an ass pack-saddle; Midr. Sam. ch. VII; a. e.
